1. Work42’s position
Never pay money to receive a job. Work42 does not ask candidates to pay a fee, security deposit, training charge, equipment charge or processing fee to apply, interview or receive an offer.
Fraudsters may misuse company names, logos, fake websites, email addresses, messaging apps or social-media profiles. Always verify the employer independently.
2. Common warning signs
- A request for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, UPI transfer or a “refundable” deposit.
- A request for your OTP, PIN, password, CVV, card details or banking login.
- An offer without a proper interview, or pressure to act immediately.
- Messages from personal email accounts or unofficial messaging profiles.
- Promises of unusually high income for minimal work.
- Requests to install unknown apps, share your screen or click suspicious links.
- Requests for Aadhaar, PAN, passport or bank details before the employer and purpose are verified.
3. Protect yourself
- Research the employer using its official website and independently sourced contact information.
- Check the sender’s full email address and domain carefully.
- Do not make payments or share financial credentials.
- Do not upload sensitive identity documents to a public profile.
- Keep screenshots, messages, email headers, payment receipts and phone numbers if you suspect fraud.
- Report suspicious listings to Work42 and report cybercrime promptly.
4. Report suspected fraud
If you see a suspicious listing or message connected with Work42, send the listing URL, screenshots and relevant details to [fraud-report email to be confirmed before launch].
If you are a victim of cybercrime or financial fraud in India, report it immediately through the Government of India’s National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or call the national cybercrime helpline at 1930. You may also contact your bank promptly for an unauthorised financial transaction.
